I had the honor and privilege of making a birthday cake for a very special young lady. Sometimes in life we can take things for granted. When I learned about this special young lady and all that she is enduring and how she remains inspirational and optimistic through it all I was immediately touched. Her friend wanted a cake that was uplifting and inspirational. The words on the cake are characteristics that this young lady possesses and shares with the world! I wish her all the best and remain optimistic!!! Oh by the way, Happy birthday!!!
I had the honor and privilege of making two different Omega Psi Phi cakes this week. One was for a chapter anniversary celebration and the other was for a birthday. No matter the design or the occassional one thing is for certain... You gotta love those Ques!!!
I had the pleasure of making this cake for my son for his 13th birthday!!! He loves the Baltimore Ravens (who can blame him, right??? HELLO!!!! Go Ravens!!!) but he also loves baseball hats!! He wasn't expecting this one at all! When he saw the cake in the refrigerator he said, "Mom, I thought you were hiding a hat from me in the refrigerator!!" The look on his face was priceless!! Happy birthday baby!!! Mommy loves you!!!
This weekend was a busy one!!! I had the pleasure of making cakes for three very special ocassions: two birthdays and a baby shower for a baby boy!!! I really enjoy working with people and hearing the ideas they come up with for their loved one's special ocassions. One loved one was an avid Redskins Fan (I won't hold that against him...LOL), One was an avid cowboy at heart, and the other cake was for a former student and an expecting mom of her first baby. It warmed my heart to talk to each customer and to hear how happy and pleased they were with what I created. It makes me love what I do even more!!!!
As a YaYa, it gives me a great pleasure to be able to do memorable and sweet things for my grandson, Teryn. This Halloween was his first and although he probably will not remember the pumpkin carving and the cupcake making, I wanted him to one day look back at the memories we created for him!!! We had a blast! Although his mom and uncles ate these cupcakes, Teryn had his own little plain cupcake set aside after his first trunk or treat adventure!!! I hope we created memories that will last forever for you my love!!
This cake was made for the niece of a former student of mine. Her party theme was Disney Princess. This cake was mostly decorated in buttercream icing with the stripes, the wand, and the crown being make of gum paste. The only thing that was not edible were the jewels on the crown. Happy birthday to Princess Jamie! Enjoy!!
It's baby season again!!! I had the pleasure of making this cake for a former student of mine who is expecting a baby girl. (Gosh, I feel old!) The cake was created from the decorations that were being used at the babyshower. Besides the Momma and baby giraffe all the decorating was done in buttercream icing. To top it off the leopard print was sprinkled in pink sugar crystals. Congrats on the arrival of Ms. Hayden Marie!
